Are you sitting down?
The news is constantly telling us that sitting down is bad for us (which from a healthy-joint and movement perspective...sure. My brother is a movement specialist and physical therapist, you can ask him here).
But from a mental health perspective, sitting can actually provide amazing benefits.
Have you figured out what I'm talking about yet?
I'm talking about...meditation. Buddhists actually call their meditation practice "sitting" because meditation to them is a form of an enlightened state. Either way, sitting down to meditate can ease anxiety, bring peace, help with insomnia, and more! I'll explain this more in future posts. Today, I simply wanted to share a great FREE app that I found called 1 Giant Mind (they have not paid me, I just really like the app). Their 12-day intro to mantra meditation* (which loosely means "that which protects the mind" and a mantra can literally be anything) is super easy to understand and use. Here's the link to the website: https://www.1giantmind.com/get-the-app/ How often do you sit down to intentionally bring peace and calm to your life? It might be time to...take a seat!
