Tripping Over Joy

I was reading this poem the other day, and I believe it has significant applications for helping us to live a more peaceful and happier life.

The poet uses "God" throughout the poem. Feel free to substitute whatever makes sense to you: whatever faith you practice, fate, the universe, etc. I think the message remains the same.

TRIPPING OVER JOY What is the difference Between your experience of Existence And that of a saint? The saint knows That the spiritual path Is a sublime chess game with God And that the Beloved Has just made such a Fantastic Move That the saint is now continually Tripping over Joy And bursting out in Laughter And saying, “I Surrender!” Whereas, my dear, I am afraid you still think You have a thousand serious moves.”

How many times in our lives have we simply yelled out, "I give up!" God, fate, the universe, what have you has decided things are going to be a certain way with or without your participation.

Creating the life you want is about finding the balance and walking the knife's edge between surrendering to what the world is offering and taking action moment by moment.

If this resonates with you, surrender to the message.

If this does not resonate with you, surrender to that message.

Either way, surrender.

Let go of the thought that you have 1,000 serious moves left to make.

I help with surrender.
